In 2026, the electrical and electronic industry is embracing green and safety-oriented upgrading. Updated industry regulations urge the whole supply chain to enforce stricter quality control. As a core structural material widely used in chargers, power adapters, power strips and other devices, PC+ABS alloy features high temperature resistance, excellent insulation and high mechanical strength. However, frequent problems such as material swelling, fastener brittle fracture and housing cracking not only damage product texture and shorten service life, but also bring potential safety hazards including electric leakage and short circuit, which have become common industry troubles.
Most manufacturers fail to locate the real cause, which actually lies in improper selection of lubricants. There is a huge performance gap between ordinary mineral oil, ester oil and high-end synthetic lubricants, and conventional greases are totally incompatible with PC+ABS materials, bringing the following hazards:
Chemical corrosion damage. PC materials are sensitive to esters, and the rubber phase inside ABS is prone to swelling when exposed to mineral oil and ester oil. Oil penetration directly breaks material molecular chains and causes rapid embrittlement and cracking.
Aggravated internal stress cracking. Injection molded parts inherently contain internal stress. Ordinary lubricants soften the material and trigger cracks at stress-concentrated positions such as screw holes, corners and buckles, leading to easy fracture under slight external force.
Poor material compatibility. PC+ABS belongs to polar materials which are incompatible with non-polar lubricants like silicone oil and mineral oil, resulting in swelling, deformation and even material degradation.
Accelerated failure under high temperature. Operating heat speeds up oil penetration and weakens PC+ABS structural strength, doubling the risk of cracking.
The fundamental solution is to replace ester oil, mineral oil and common silicone oil with fully compatible perfluoropolyether grease.
Baoxing BX-300/E-WY Perfluoropolyether Grease is highly recommended. Featuring extreme chemical stability, it serves as the ideal lubrication solution for various plastic materials.
Baoxing BX-300/E-WY is perfectly compatible with PC+ABS, ABS, PP and more plastics, effectively preventing plastic swelling, corrosion and cracking. It also delivers outstanding high temperature resistance and insulation performance, with low volatility and no carbon deposition even under high working temperature. Fully compliant with electrical safety standards, it maintains long-term stable lubrication, effectively reduces product rework rate, extends equipment service life and helps enterprises cut costs and boost efficiency.
It is advised to conduct compatibility tests in accordance with ISO22088 standards before official application. Three optimization suggestions are listed to reduce cracking risks fundamentally:
Internal stress relief: Perform annealing treatment at 80-100℃ for 2-4 hours after injection molding to release internal material stress.
Structural optimization: Avoid sharp corners in mold design and ensure uniform wall thickness to reduce stress concentration areas.
Material upgrading: Adopt PC-rich alloy or oil-resistant materials such as PPO and PS.
With 20 years of experience in domestic specialty lubricant production, Baoxing has obtained ISO9001 quality management system certification, ISO21469 food hygiene certification, NSF dual certifications, EU RoHS, REACH and other international safety and environmental approvals. Strict production process control ensures stable and reliable product quality.
