What is the harm of excessive viscosity of lubricating oil

Viscosity (viscosity) is the primary indicator (label and brand of lubricating oil) for the selection of lubricants for equipment. What is the harm if the viscosity is not selected properly? If the viscosity is too high, the fluidity of the oil is not enough, and the parts that need to be lubricated cannot be fully infiltrated. The harm caused are:

1. The friction inside the lubricating oil is intensified and the oil is overheated, which accelerates the oxidation and deterioration of the lubricating oil, shortens the service life of the oil, and generates by-products such as paint film and sludge.

2. The frictional resistance during the operation of the machine is aggravated, which leads to an increase in energy consumption and at the same time, the temperature rises during the operation of the machine.

3. Poor oil flow leads to insufficient lubrication of the equipment. Oxidation and deterioration of the oil can also lead to poor lubrication and cause serious wear.

4. Equipment failure shortens the service life of equipment components.

5. Cold start is difficult when the temperature is low, resulting in dry friction damage during cold start of the equipment.

6. Bubbles are easy to produce in the oil, and the oil's demulsibility (oil-water separation performance) is affected.
