In various electronic devices, switches, though small in size, directly affect conductivity stability and lifespan. Many switch failures are not due to structural problems, but rather the gradual deterioration of internal contacts under the combined effects of long-term friction, current, and environmental factors. The correct use of switch lubricant is often an overlooked factor.
Electronic switches typically involve contact and sliding between metal contacts. Without lubrication or with improper lubrication, the first problem that arises is increased friction. During sliding, the metal contacts are in direct, hard contact, significantly accelerating wear. The longer the switch is used, the more pronounced the problems of poor contact and deteriorated feel become, especially noticeable in frequently used switches.
Secondly, there is the risk of oxidation. Most switch metal plates have a plating layer on their surface to improve conductivity and oxidation resistance. However, with repeated friction, the plating layer will gradually wear away, and the exposed metal is highly susceptible to oxidation when it comes into direct contact with air. The resulting metal oxides form stable additional resistance, which not only reduces conductivity but also continuously accelerates wear, significantly shortening the switch's lifespan.
Even more concerning is the issue of electric arcing under energized conditions. When a switch turns current on and off, a momentary high voltage may be generated between the metal contacts, forming an electric arc and sparks. This phenomenon can not only burn the metal contacts but also melt or erode the surrounding plastic structure. If the selected grease has insufficient temperature resistance or is prone to carbonization, it will exacerbate the risk of flashover and cause more serious failures.
Therefore, switch grease is not simply "applying some oil randomly," but rather needs to take into account lubrication, electrical properties, temperature resistance, and material compatibility.
Baoxing switch grease is compatible with various plastics and effectively prevents carbon buildup, reduces arcing and sparking, protects the surfaces of metals such as copper, silver, and gold, and reduces oxidation. It also provides waterproofing and rust prevention. The viscosity of the grease can be adjusted to suit different application scenarios.
