A solar thermal power station is a clean energy facility that converts solar energy into heat, which is then used to generate electricity through a steam turbine. Its core principle is to use a concentrator to collect solar energy, heat a heat transfer medium, and ultimately drive a steam turbine to generate electricity. In a solar thermal power plant, the reducer is a key transmission component . It is responsible for reducing the high-speed rotation of the motor to the low-speed, high-torque output required by the equipment, providing stable power to devices such as heliostats and tracking systems. Reducers are required to operate for long periods of time in environments often characterized by high temperatures, strong sunlight, and dust. Lack of lubrication can easily lead to gear wear, increased noise, and even equipment downtime.


Why use lubricating oil? The role of lubricating oil in reducer


1. Reduce friction and resist wear - Form an oil film between gears and bearings to reduce direct metal contact.

2. Cooling and heat dissipation - helps to remove the heat generated by friction and prevent the reducer from overheating.

3. Protection and life extension - Anti-oxidation and anti-corrosion, extending equipment life and reducing maintenance costs.


The unique operating conditions of CSP plants necessitate extreme caution when selecting oil . The oil must maintain stable viscosity and resist volatility in high-temperature environments. Ordinary oils are susceptible to degradation under strong sunlight and high temperatures, necessitating high-quality base oils and additives.


To ensure that gears can operate for a long time without seizure or wear , the lubricant needs to have anti-wear properties. At the same time, it must be seal compatible to prevent the lubricant from corroding or swelling the seals.

Only by choosing the right lubricant can the equipment continue to operate stably in extreme environments such as high temperature and strong light, contributing continuous power to clean energy.
